Call of Duty 1: Pavlov’s House
Pavlov’s House mission in Call of Duty 1 is mainly a sniper mission. It is the fifth mission of the Soviet Campaign. You play as Private Alexei Ivanovich Voronin, who’s under the command of Sargent Pavlov. In the mission, you start from a building and your objective is to take control of a building which is tragically important for you in the war. But it’s not as easy as you’d imagine. The building you want to get into also has snipers patrolling for enemies and you have to cross an open space with little space for covers to get into that building. But lucky for you Sargent Pavlov assigned someone else to draw fire from the snipers and you can spot and take out the snipers one by one.
Eventually, you enter the house from its flank. After you get into the building, you have to switch to your submachine gun and clear each floor one by one killing waves of German soldiers. After clearing the building you have to defend it from approaching German tanks and reinforcements. After you take out the German tanks with armor-piercing rifles mounted on the building, you have to hold off the attacking Germans while your reinforcements arrive to back you. The mission ends when you are able to hold off the enemies till your reinforcements arrive
The mission is a fantastic blend of slow and fast-paced phases and different aspects of the game. From taking out snipers from far away to encountering waves of enemies in close counters, this mission was a great blend of all the Call of Duty fun at that time.

Call of Duty 2:The Battle of Point du Hoc
The Battle Point du Hoc is the first mission of the American campaign in Call of Duty 2. The start of the mission consists of a long cutscene by the end of which you are at Omaha Beach. You start at the bottom of a cliff defended by Germans. You have to climb up the cliff and go into the trenches while staying out of sight of the MG42. As you advance you’ll come under heavy fire from another gunner so you have to lay down smoke to advance. After your teammates destroy the gunner you will be clear to progress through the next mission.
This mission isn’t something to be emphatic about. it’s just the mission that feels good to go through. You don’t feel like stuck anywhere and have the feeling that you covered a lot of advancements to your campaign.
Call of Duty 3: Fuel Plant
One of the most underrated Call of Duty games, Call of Duty 3 just kind of gone under the radar and doesn’t get talked about enough in the community. The game sold a solid 7 million copies across all platforms and the reason for its low popularity is something else to talk about. Today we will stick to talking about the missions.
The mission objective is to destroy a German Fuel Plant. It goes like any other Call of Duty game mission with waves of Germans coming to kill you. After you destroy all the fuel tanks, you try to escape the Plant but in the process, you lose Major Ingram whose car was hit by a Panzer VI shell. This ignites a standoff between the team but the approaching German Reinforcements cut it short.
The mission is not something to write home about but it does tick the boxes of being a fun mission. there are different phases of the mission and it does feel well balanced. Overall the mission is a good one and does deserves more love, the whole game does.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare: All Ghillied Up
One of the most iconic missions of the whole franchise, All Guillied Up in Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is a flashback mission that tracks back to 1996. At that time you play as a young Lieutenant Price. The mission was set up in Pripyat, Ukraine when the government authorized the assassination of Imran Zakhaev, the main antagonist of the game.
The mission starts with you and Captain MacMillan both ghillied up. The objective of the mission is to assassinate Imran Zakhaev and then escape. You take the point of vantage in an abandoned hotel. You as Price take a Barret M82 sniper rifle to assassinate Zakhaev. After taking the shot you are chased by countless waves of Russian soldiers and while escaping, MacMillan gets injured. For the rest of the mission, you have to carry MacMillan while eliminating countless Russians. In the end, you have to wait for your backup team to arrive while you lay mine and sachel charges around an open space and defend both you and Captain MacMillan.
The mission is probably one of the best across the games that have come out. From start to finish you are invested in the mission. The character you play is also one of the coolest characters in Call of Duty games and it feels really good playing as a character you watched and loved throughout the game.
Call of Duty World at War: Vendetta
One of the more memorable missions from Call of Duty World at War is the Vendetta mission. Many people remember this mission as the Raznov mission. It is clear that sniper missions are more iconic in the Call of Duty series and this one is another one of them.
In the mission, you play Private Dimitri Petrenko who alongside Sargent Raznov survives an attack by Wehrmacht in Stalingrad. The start of the mission is really well done where you experience the pure madness of war. The enemy leaves you thinking you’re dead after which you Raznov make advances on your mission to assassinate General Heinrich Amsel. Even though Raznov hurt his hand he continued his mission to assassinate Amsel. Raznov gives you his scoped Mosin-Nagant and you take control of the sniping in the mission.
You both then follow Amsel trying to get a favorable position to assassinate. While doing this you get spotted by another sniper. After killing him with the lep of Raznov, both proceed further but later both get spotted by Germans and as they are about to be incinerated by a flamethrower, Russian soldiers arrive to aid them. With the Russian soldier’s support, both make advancements to kill Amsel. Raznov shows Dimitri the player character a good sniping position to take Amsel down. The mission ends after you kill Amsel and manage to escape from the German troops by jumping into a river.
This is also one of those missions where you feel incredible playing alongside a well-written NPC. Call of Duty created many memorable characters and this one is certainly one of them. Many people have loved this mission from the game to this day.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: Cliffhanger
If you’re a fan of the Modern Warfare series you most likely remember this mission from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Set in the cold mountains of Kazakhstan, Garry “Roach” Sanderson, the player character goes into a Russian airbase to recover an ACS module from a downed satellite to avoid Russians using its data and abilities.
In the mission, you are accompanied by yet another iconic character, Captain John “Soap” MacTavish. You and Soap go into the base with a Heartbeat sensor which you use to stealthily take out Russian soldiers. After recovering the module, Roach and Soap manage to escape on snowmobiles while being actively chased by Russians.
The mission gives you the feeling of being the elite when it comes to these covert missions. sneaking into a location where enemies are crawling all over and still managing to complete the mission escaping from a massive army chasing you is an awesome feeling. It is a really well-done mission from start to finish and it feels amazing to play as these badass soldiers.
Call of Duty Black Ops: Vorkuta
Call of Duty Black Ops is a series really popular even outside the Call of Duty fans. The series is still popular but it really peaked in the first 3 games. Especially the first and second games.
Vorkuta was the second mission of the Black Ops game that was released in 2010. In the mission, The main Protagonist Mason alongside Raznov tries and escape from a Russian labor camp with other prisoners. You use every weapon that you can use to your advantage including a Slingshot, Minigun, and other weapons to kill every Russian soldier. You blast through gates with shotguns and take out machine guns and helicopters in your way. Eventually, you and Raznov escape on a bike while taking out the chasing Russian soldiers.
It is one of those missions where there aren’t a ton of characters that take and it does well to set up that situation where you are escaping without a pre-conceived plan.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: Dust to Dust
Fans of Call of Duty love the Modern Warfare trilogy. The mission Dust to Dust concludes the trilogy satisfactorily and gives the story well-deserved closure.
The mission is the last one of Modern Warfare 3 and the trilogy as well. The whole story of the Modern Warfare series concludes in this mission as your objective of the mission is the kill Vladimir Makarov, the main Antagonist of the series.
You play the mission as Captain Price accompanied by previously played character Yuri. Both start in the back of a van wearing Juggernaught suits.
Your main objective is to get into the hotel Makarov’s hiding at. The place is crawling with Russians who are pilling up to kill you. Luckily the suit you are wearing offers enough protection to get you through the waves of enemies. Once your suits wear off you have to move on your own. Eventually, you chase Makarov down to the terrace. But Makarov manages to gun you down, just when you are about to be shot Yuri distracts Makarov but he gets shot, and that gives you the precious window. You grab Makarov by the throat tie a steel rope to his neck and then break the glass on which you are standing. The tussle ends with Makarov being hanged to death and Captain Price lighting a Cigar symbolizing the end of a madman.
The mission is great in itself because of the ending alone. The feeling of killing the villain who has been the reason for the destruction and deaths of beloved characters gives you that relieved feeling of putting an end to something important.

Call of Duty Black Ops II: Old Wounds
Call of Duty Black Ops II was the ninth main game of the series. Developed by Treyarch, it is regarded as one of the best Call of Duty games by many fans. The game sold over 29 million copies worldwide and for good reason, the has great reviews and still gets talked about.
The Old Wounds mission is the third mission in the game and is set in Afghanistan where you have to help the Afghani Muzahidins hold off a Russian attack in exchange for the whereabouts of Menendez. You go on horseback to head-on in the attack against the Russians. In the battle, they find Kravchenko who was the leader of the Russian attack. You and your partners interrogate Kravchenko and find out that Menendez has moles in the CIA as well. After killing Kravchenko, the Afghanis betray you and your partners leaving you in the desert but some unknown men save them. this is where this mission ends.
We put this mission not because of it being massively important for the story but for the gameplay it offered. Something about going out on horseback to fight an entire army felt really good. The pacing of the mission is also really great with the slow starting opening and the quickly brewing attacks and then in the end a plot twist to sum it up. Overall the mission is a blast to play through.
We’ve covered eight games here on the list and we think it’s time to cut it short. We’ll bring you the part two of this list soon. Be sure to tune in for more gaming-related content.
