5 survival games which have the most realistic details

Survival games often have a good amount of details that refer to real life. However, some games take the attention to detail to another level. Here are 5 games that do an amazing job of giving you the most immersive experience.

The Long Dark

There are very few survival games based on cold-harsh weather, much less a well-optimized one. That’s where The Long Dark comes in. The Long Dark, despite not being graphically the most advanced game, still manages to nail every aspect of a survival game set in a tough, cold environment. The game pulls no punches at giving you the toughest situations from which you have to manage your resources to survive. The clothes you wear and the amount of time you spend outdoors all affect your temperature level. The clothes you wear eventually get torn and you have to replace them.

The game doesn’t offer a comforting amount of resources and you have to scavenge for every single resource. You run out of resources quickly if you keep looting a certain area or town. You will run out of food and other items like firewood to keep you alive. So you have to keep moving, and this reflects perfecting to real life if you’re ever stuck in a place like that. The game also has a story mode, which is not completed yet. So far, the story mode is not disappointing any fans as it doesn’t interfere with the gameplay elements. The game is a must-play if you like survival games.

Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid is a zombie survival game, and it’s arguably one of the few games in the genre that comes close to real life. Unlike other zombie survival games, where you mow down a horde of zombies alone with tons of badass weapons in your arsenal. Project Zomboid doesn’t do all of those things, the only thing common with the previously mentioned things is the zombie hordes that you will come across. Every other game mechanic is based on real life; you’ll have to hit zombies with anything you come across, from a pencil to a plunger, you name it.

The sandbox gameplay really complements the core objective of the game. The game gives you the feeling of how it would actually play out if a zombie apocalypse did really occur. It’s a classic zombie survival game; it has a good community around it who still love the game and play it even to this day.

This War of Mine

Survival games often take the basic premise of you being alone in a world where almost everything is trying to kill you. But in This War of Mine, that isn’t the case. You’re not trapped on a deserted island, nor are you the last survivor of an apocalypse. You’re simply a person trying to survive in an ongoing war, encountering other people as you go. You take control of three people, maintaining them and the shelter they live in. Each night you go out to scavenge for food and supplies. The game lets you make decisions where you have to question morality, and that’s where the game is different.

The game fantastically shows how war affects the lives of normal people, making them into something they are not. The game tells its narrative wonderfully, and the players can feel that. It’s a different take on the survival game genre with a commendable approach.

Green Hell

Green hell is one of the most in-depth Survival games in terms of showing you how easily a rainforest can be fatal to you. The game sets up in a rainforest with you trying to find your wife who went missing. On the way to find her, you experience how brutal it can be to survive in a rainforest. When it comes to the environment affecting you, the game pulls no punches.

There are all kinds of diseases you can pick up, infections, cuts, and bruises which if left untreated, can lead to your death. The game even has schizophrenia, which shows the amount of attention that went through it especially when talking about the environmental elements. You have to take care of your body at every stage and like in real life, you have to be aware of where you are and what you are consuming. It’s a game that doesn’t put a ton of details in the other departments like movements or some other mechanics, but the level of detail it offers in terms of foreign elements affecting your gameplay is second to none.
