Big Mom’s most competent child and the Sweet Commander with a bounty of over a billion berries Katakuri is the perfect rival for Luffy’s awakening of the next level of Color of Observation Haki. His mastery over Observation Haki in One Piece allows him to see seconds into the future, combined with his awakened Mochi-Mochi Devil Fruit. His duel with Luffy became less about victory and more about mutual respect between warriors. Katakuri’s character displayed that not all villains are driven by malice, but rather by duty and family loyalty.

4. Donquixote Doflamingo

The former Celestial Dragon turned pirate and Warlord is one of One Piece’s most complex villains. Doflamingo’s String-String Fruit and his cunning manipulation made him a threat that extended beyond physical combat. He displayed many skills by playing on multiple sides such as control of Dressrosa, the SMILE factory operation with Kaido, and his knowledge of the World Nobles’ “National Treasure.” His philosophical speech about justice and the nature of power remains the series’ most proving moment.

3. Big Mom (Charlotte Linlin)

Charlotte Linlin, most famously known as Big Mom, is an Emperor of the Sea in One Piece. Her backstory, involving the tragic events at Mother Carmel’s orphanage, shaped her into a force of nature driven by an insatiable desire for a family. Her Soul-Soul Fruit powers combined with tremendous physical strength and advanced Haki, made her nearly impenetrable and invincible. She controlled an entire country through fear and sugar-coated tyranny. She turned the Whole Cake Island into a twisted parody of a fairy tale kingdom.

2. Kaido of the Beasts

Kaido earned his reputation and title as the World’s Strongest Creature through his sheer dominance and unbreakable will. His Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon, made him the ultimate opponent for Luffy at Wano Arc. Kaido’s control over Wano Country reflected a different kind of villainy. He is the one who was born from a warrior’s nihilistic worldview after experiencing too many betrayals and disappointments. His search for a glorious death and belief in strength above all else created a contrast with Luffy’s ideals of freedom and friendship in One Piece.

One of the Five Elders in One Piece, Saturn’s confrontation is the direct result of meeting with the highest authority of the World Government in the New World. His appearance on Egghead Island marked a shift in how the Elders operate, choosing to personally intervene rather than relying on subordinates. Saturn’s awakened Zoan-type Devil Fruit transforms him into a monstrous spider-like creature, the hidden powers at the very top of the world’s power pyramid. His direct involvement in the story signals a new phase in the conflict between the Straw Hats and the World Government.

The New World villains in One Piece bring unique and ideological challenges that test our nakamas in different ways. Their presence forced the Straw Hats to grow in strength as well as in resolve and understanding the world they navigating through.
