Hey there, readers! Are you ever sitting comfortably, did your heart is racing, and your eyes glued to the screen, watching the realistic car chase or the impressive fight sequence in your favorite action film?

The Oscar Award

If so, then you are far from being the only person as this appears to be a very common issue. Such electrifying moments are usually pulled off by talented stunt performers and coordinators and this particular scene is no exception.

Although they play perhaps the most significant parts in some of the most iconic scenes in film history, their achievements have until recently largely gone unrecognized by the Oscars. But that might be about to change!

In the last few years, the possibility of the appearance of a new Oscar category, the Best Stunt, has been discussed more frequently. Ok, this concept has been discussed for quite some time and it appears that we are on the verge of actually witnessing it materialize. And honestly, it is about time, I must say.

The stunt performers are one of the most unidentified assets in the film production. They have their own lives on the line in order to capture the stunts that are so popular in action films and most are unknown aside from their co-stars and directors.

Just consider for a second those breathtaking stunts, exhilarating fight sequences, and spectacular, fiery eruptions – all that is not exactly achieved through sorcery. They need strategizing, strength and most important of all, they need balls of steel.

Now I would like to discuss some ideas on what this new category could signify for Oscars and the film industry. First off, it would offer the exposure that these incredible professionals truly deserve. Unfortunately, there is no official Oscar category that recognizes the writers’ efforts, which makes them inferior in the industry and often overworked.

In addition, this could spark the emergence of young stunt performers and coordinators who have not had an opportunity before. Maybe they would target the people who wanted to create films that could be nominated for such a prestigious award in cinema. Just consider how many more great heights of creative thinking and levels of safety standards could be reached if they were more supported and appreciated!

It may also help to broaden the variety of movies that could receive Oscars, by including the Best Stunt nomination. Traditionally, the Academy awards tend to give out their prestigious awards to dramatic films and biopics, rather than action-packed blockbusters.

Thus, with stunts in mind, movies that score high in this aspect could potentially attract more award attention; therefore, there is an increased possibility for a more diverse representation of the art of filmmaking.

Nonetheless, the given opportunities appear to possess higher utility as compared to the identified difficulties. The movie making business is a continuously growing entity, and rewarding these courageous stunt performers appears to be the next appropriate step.

Well, what are your thoughts now? Do you think that fans of action movies are looking forward to celebrating their favorite action scenes by awarding them Oscars? Please let me know in the comments section below—how do you feel about this exciting turning point?

Until next time, happy watching those high octane movies and great working making those flicks unforgettable!
