The Revelation: As usual, Jeff Butcher has negative motives in relation to Ezekiel.

In this last episode, Butcher beating Ezekiel looks like someone with superhuman strength did so to his opponent. This particular scene has created a bevy of theories among the audiences, and most of them are expecting that Butcher has consumed Compound V, a substance that grants power to people.

It has to be pointed out though that excluding some sort of an advantage, it looks virtually unimaginable for Butcher to defeat Ezekiel in this manner. Others have therefore speculated that Butcher might have used the real Compound V and this implying that he needs immense strength and abilities to defeat the powerful opponent. 

Butcher and Compound V: The manager as a Necessary Evil?

Butcher taking Compound V creates a lot of exciting questions about his character and the sequels of the show. All the time in the show, Butcher has remained so against Supes, believing that they are corrupt and are a menace to society.

If Butcher is now a Supe, then this equals the odds for the final confrontation with Homelander that was bound to happen. It would be possible to watch him suffer for the same spiriting problems Supes suffer from, like control, responsibility or impulsive enforcement of power. It could only make his character more complex perhaps giving the writers a lot to work with in the last season.

But one must not forget that this series is “The Boys” and nothing can be ruled out as the creators have shown the audiences cinema that no one was expecting.
