Hello, fellow fans of “The Boys“! Like me, You too have watched all current season episodes so keenly until now. Season four episode four really intensified our anticipation, didn’t it? One crucial hint about Billy Butcher possibly having been born as a superhuman. Eh ?
Yeah, he is the same Butcher, leading our loosely affiliated gang of ordinary citizens against superheros has supernatural abilities. Let’s dive into this intriguing development and see what it could mean for the rest of the series.
The Revelation: As usual, Jeff Butcher has negative motives in relation to Ezekiel.
In this last episode, Butcher beating Ezekiel looks like someone with superhuman strength did so to his opponent. This particular scene has created a bevy of theories among the audiences, and most of them are expecting that Butcher has consumed Compound V, a substance that grants power to people.
It has to be pointed out though that excluding some sort of an advantage, it looks virtually unimaginable for Butcher to defeat Ezekiel in this manner. Others have therefore speculated that Butcher might have used the real Compound V and this implying that he needs immense strength and abilities to defeat the powerful opponent.
Butcher and Compound V: The manager as a Necessary Evil?
Butcher taking Compound V creates a lot of exciting questions about his character and the sequels of the show. All the time in the show, Butcher has remained so against Supes, believing that they are corrupt and are a menace to society.
But then, if he has in fact ingested the Compound V, he is a different person all together from the ally person he used to be. Is it possible that, in Butcher’s eyes, this is the price one has to pay to deal with Homelander and the other Supes?

This all also relates to the show’s continued theme of grey morality. Based on the series called “The Boys,” what is essential to emphasize is the lack of manifest difference between good and evil, and the protagonists and antagonists are faced with the moral dilemmas often.
Butcher taking Compound V would be a good example in the sense that one might be willing to become what they despise, as long as they get what they want, meaning that even Supes have employed the same strategy in achieving their goals.
What this means for the Final Season?
This revelation coupled with the fact that season 4 is the second to the last season, leaves fans expecting a very interesting final season. If Butcher is now a Supe, then this equals the odds for the final confrontation with Homelander that was bound to happen. As a result, it could also contribute to infighting in “The Boys” team, especially if the new development affects the performance of each fraction.
What will the other members do when Butcher emerges as one of the Supes? Will they consider it as a form of betrayal or will they be able to comprehend that it is a move that had to be made so as to eliminate the strong opposition? On the other hand, it is also nice to see that Butcher having powers might shift the show and the story in a new directions and act as a basis for a new arcs for the characters.
It would be possible to watch him suffer for the same spiriting problems Supes suffer from, like control, responsibility or impulsive enforcement of power. It could only make his character more complex perhaps giving the writers a lot to work with in the last season.

Fan Reactions and Theories
Some fans would love Butcher to have powers and they claim that it will make more sense given his context. Some people argue that this twist was kind of foreshadowed in the series due to certain episodes in which Butcher demonstrated the signs of invulnerability – he gets hurt but does not die. However, there are some fans that are questioning this change thinking that this modification will be detrimental to Butcher’s character.
They would like to point out that Delta despises Supes, or as they put it, his hate is his strength, and granting him powers would water down this side of him. But one must not forget that this series is “The Boys” and nothing can be ruled out as the creators have shown the audiences cinema that no one was expecting.
Conclusion: An Exciting Future for ‘The Boys’
It doesn’t matter if you’re excited or worried that Billy could be a Supe, what matters is that this twist spices up the story. Only one more season of “The Boys” remains, so expect more shocking moments and intense scenes. Therefore, gear up as this journey is bound to be one you will never forget.
