Chris Evans: Our Captain America

Alright, Marvel fans, let us travel back in time and check out a time when Chris Evans was not portraying Captain America or even a secondary actor for that matter. Picture this: This is still the beginning of the MCU, and different actors are being considered and tested for the role of Steve Rogers. Welcome Glen Powell, an actor on the rise who nearly auditioned for Captain America.

Well, you did not hear it here first. Before Powell was flying high in Top Gun: Or still charming viewers in “Set It Up,” he was on the cusp of wearing the star-studded suit. Spoiler alert: he was turned down for the role, and the marvel community celebrated this. Why? Just because Chris Evans was born to be Captain America, and Glen Powell’s audition.

First of all let me give Glen his due. The guy is talented. He is good looking man, always smiling and can perform well on the screen. However, there is always a justification why certain characters are designed for some actors/actressess. Also, Chris Evans could not have demonstrated the determination accompanied by humility in the energy of the scrawny kid from Brooklyn any better.

From what one hears and learns in this business, Powell certainly bombed during his audition, to say the least. You could picture it as the effort to fit a square into a round hole. He tried his best, but the character of Captain America never surfaced in him. It is like when you try to imagine Tony Stark as a man without all his technology gadgets. There are things that cannot be put in place like the pieces of a puzzle.

And for fans, they must have heaved a sigh of relief. Bob Nixon – Can you imagine a world where captain America is not Chris Evans. It is as if one cannot picture Thor without his long mane or Hulk without his banging. It just doesn’t compute. Thanks to Evans the character Cap became more credible and likeable for viewers all around the globe. He taught us the existence of heroes, that there is such a thing as good old fashion values and the importance of an inspirational speech.

And, of course, there is the opportunity to hook up with the rest of the Avengers team. This was evident by how Chris Evans portrayed Captain America as the pillar that held the team together.Could Glen Powell have performed that trick?Doubtful.

I can joke about it now, [but] I blew that final audition.

Therefore here is to Glen Powell for making a try and explaining to us how perfect Chris Evans was in the position. Powell moved on to discover his place, as for Evans? However, he proceeded to become a legend, beyond the silver screen and on to the green screen.

Marvel lovers, let’s bow before the casting heavens and Glen Powell’s terrible read. Because at its core, the movie gave us the Captain America we deserve, and he did not disappoint.
