Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero – Potential and Disappointment
In the universe of Dragon Ball there have been many announcements of huge significance as well as events that completely alter the direction of the story. When “Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero” was announced, all the fans across the world waited impatiently.
To start with, consider going back just a bit. The “Budokai Tenkaichi” series is one of the major pillars of Dragon Ball gaming’s historical facts. Renowned for its long list of characters and rapid, explosive combats, it brought out the reality in animation similar to no other game.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will reveal a new character trailer
Thus, the news that the series might be staging a comeback, enabled fans to think of numerous innovations in respect to modern technology that would make it better.
However, as the specifics of “Sparking Zero” began to trickle out, the excitement started to wane. One of the major letdowns was the limited character roster at launch. While the original “Budokai Tenkaichi” series boasted a staggering number of characters, “Sparking Zero” seems to be taking a more conservative approach.Fans wanted to dive into battles with their favorite obscure characters, not just the main cast.
And now let’s move to the gameplay aspect. Remaining faithful to the original will definitely be the key factor here, but it should be known that, there was a chance which could have been used for the introduction of new things. For “Sparking Zero“, it seems that they are being conservative since they are using similar methods which were used in earlier versions of the game.
Furthermore, many argue that the campaigns in single-player version are boring and short of an enthralling narrative like in previous editions. They expected more of an immersive story mode that would have them re-experience the classic Dragon Ball arcs from a different point of view with modern storytelling methods and cinematic flair.
On the contrary, it seems as if players are just trudging through well-trodden paths with no room for innovation nor depth required for this game to become truly exceptional.
However, it should not be considered that “Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero” is not good enough yet. There are still a lot of opportunities for this game despite its early challenges. This game has so much potential with the updates released after its launch date and additional content available through downloadable content (DLC).
On the other hand, we all know how much Dragon Ball fans have strong feelings on things related to their beloved anime series and there is no need for them to remain silent about any shortcomings of this version since their opinion can shape the destiny of “Sparking Zero“.
Ultimately, “Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero” is a mixed bag. It gives us hope that it could rekindle the thrill of the “Budokai Tenkaichi” series. May this turn out true but after some development the game can rise up well enough into that befitting the Dragon Ball legacy.
