Knull: The Original Symbiote Boss

Knull isn’t just any villain. He’s the god of the symbiotes, a being that commands every single piece of symbiote life in the Marvel universe. He was introduced back in 2018, thanks to Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s run on Venom, and instantly became one of the most feared characters in modern Marvel history. He’s not your run-of-the-mill bad guy—Knull is a Celestial killer. Yep, he’s that powerful.

Long story short, Knull comes from this prehistoric void, and when the Celestials woke him up, he was not happy. He decided to fight back by creating the symbiote species from the darkness around him, using one of them as a sword called All-Black the Necrosword. Eventually, he tried to invade Earth (because, why not?), but Eddie Brock (aka Venom) and a team of heroes stopped him in the King in Black event. Eddie Brock even took over Knull’s throne as the new King in Black. But now, Knull is on his way back, and it’s bad news for anyone wearing a symbiote.

Marvel’s Summer of Symbiotes

Marvel is kicking off something big with the “Summer of Symbiotes.” It’s going to be a big summer for Venom, Carnage, and all things symbiote. The whole thing started with a mini-series called Extreme Venomverse, which opened up the symbiote multiverse (because, of course, there’s a multiverse).

But the real climax is set for August with the Death of the Venomverse series. This five-issue run will bring all the symbiote madness to a head, and fans are in for some epic showdowns.

The Return of Knull: What’s the Deal?

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Marvel recently revealed the cover for Death of the Venomverse #5, and it’s pretty clear that Knull is coming back in a big way. The cover shows a showdown between Knull and Carnage, which already has fans buzzing. Knull is going to have a major role in this final issue, setting up what looks like an epic battle between him and Carnage.

Carnage has been busy gaining power, and his plan is to take out every Venom he can find. He’s trying to become the next King in Black, which means he’ll be gunning for Eddie Brock’s spot. So now, Eddie is caught between fighting his future selves in the Garden of Time (a whole other storyline), dealing with Carnage’s power grab, and now, the return of Knull. Talk about a bad day!

Knull versus Carnage: The Fight We Have Anticipated

Knull returning to battle Carnage is a significant event for fans of symbiotes. These two characters from Marvel are not only dangerous, but they are also competing for dominance over the symbiote throne. Knull, the first King in Black, is going up against Carnage, who is attempting to replace him as the new King in Black. Who will win in the end?

Carnage has been rampaging and growing stronger by stealing powers from other Marvel characters. His aim is to eliminate every single Venom, so Eddie Brock is now a marked man. At the same time, Knull coming back indicates that the fight for control of the symbiote throne will be fierce, with the victor gaining significant influence over the entire symbiote multiverse.

What’s Next for Eddie Brock?

Eddie Brock is already in a tough spot. As the current King in Black, he’s been fighting off future versions of himself in this weird place called the Garden of Time. The future Kings in Black are led by Meridius, a future Eddie Brock who’s trying to show current Eddie that his path is inevitable. Basically, Eddie is in the middle of some intense time-travel nonsense.

Now, with Carnage coming for him and Knull back in the picture, Eddie’s got way too much on his plate. It’s looking like no matter who wins the fight between Knull and Carnage, Eddie’s going to be in for a rough time. As Marvel teases, “whoever wins, Venom loses.
