The launch of “The Acolyte” was obviously the most theatrical and dramatic thing ever. This new Disney+ series promises a deep dive into the Star Wars universe. It is set to take place some 100 years before the emergence of the Empire and, specifically, will focus on exploring the secret areas of the galaxy where the most prominent people secretly seek a connection with the Force.
The galaxy was at peace; the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic flourished. But there was darkness as well, because secretly, behind the scenes, some people practiced the Force as an art, seeking revenge.
The Mysterious Assassin
The episode starts off with an amazing combat scenario in which a Jedi, similar to Trinity from “The Matrix,” is seen as being surprising and ready to pass on. The death of Indrana, meanwhile, is a moving moment in which the dangers of this very galaxy came to light.
A mysterious woman who has cat-like eyes could be seen doing a hand-to-hand combat scene with a jedi who resembles the trinity from the matrix; her name is Indrana. She will die after some time while saving an innocent life. It is a full-fledged action scene that heats up the series from the very start.
There are so many questions coming into being because of the death of Indrana. She knows who is killing her, as she says, ‘you?’. It immediately indicates that there is something personal behind this killing. He cons Indrana to make her drop her defense. This leads to the brutal murder of Indrana through the conspiracy that the Jedi are exposed to.
Sol and the Great Jedi Academy Story
A Jedi instructor, Sol fills a very influential role in the story. His disbelief in Osha’s guilt and his fights towards finding her well display his firm and string attachment with his former student, hence showing the emotional stakes in the story.
A shocking twist arises upon the search for Osha: the discovery of Mae, Osha’s long-lost twin sister. That’s what twists everything, since Mae’s motives and identity are still up in the air.
Mae’s Dark Intentions
Mae’s sinister intention of having to kill whoever she ends up meeting makes it eerie. Even her cryptic discussion on not needing weapons to kill hints at something more sinister in afoot against the Jedi.
This marks the end of the episode, with Sol saving Osha and Mae talking to a mysterious figure who seems to have some ill intentions. This all sets the promise for many mind-bending future episodes.
Who is Mae after all?
Osha sees someone coming out of the crashed ship, and when it turns back, she instantly recognises them as her long-lost twin sister, Mae! After that, a conversation happens between Osha and Mae, where Mae tells her she is going to kill everyone, but we don’t know who she is talking about.
The Acolyte starts with a gripping narrative, replete with mystery and action. Mae and her connections with Osha and Indrana set up the foundation of what this thrilling journey is going to lay out in the dark side of the Force.
