Do not become too excited right now. Although The Punisher makes an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again season 1, his involvement will be quite restricted. Yes, somewhat disappointing. Marvel’s apparently playing the long game here. Season 1 is mainly going to focus on Daredevil and his story, so Frank Castle will only pop in for a few scenes.

Essentially, Frank will not be engaging in his typical “taking down criminals” routine at the moment. In season 1, his character serves as a hint of what viewers can expect in season 2. They are establishing the foundation for the actual Punisher action that will occur later. So, be patient!

Season 2: Time for The Punisher to Shine!

Now for the good stuff—season 2 is where the Punisher action really kicks in! As per Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus, who has access to all the inside information about Marvel, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will feature Frank Castle more prominently on screen. If you have been desiring the tough and straightforward Punisher action, stay patient because it will be available in season 2.

Perez suggested that the first season is merely preparing us for The Punisher’s increased importance in the second season. Yes, there may be a delay, but it seems like the outcome will definitely be worthwhile.

The future of The Punisher?

Truth be told, Jon Bernthal brought a high level of intensity to his portrayal of The Punisher. His depiction of Frank Castle was intense, gloomy, and memorable. What does Marvel have in store for him now? Currently, they are not revealing much (as expected), but we can anticipate some fantastic things.

Marvel’s been exploring the darker side of its universe, so The Punisher is probably going to get involved in some serious crime-fighting. Yes, season 2 is confirmed, in case you were unsure. At Disney’s D23 Expo, Marvel’s Kevin Feige verified that production for season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is currently underway. Therefore, additional Daredevil, additional Punisher, and very likely a significant amount of mayhem are in store.

Feige also provided fans with a glimpse of the show during the expo, but the majority of the information is still being kept confidential. From what information we have, their intention is to pay tribute to the original Netflix series while also progressing the storyline.

Wrapping It Up

Alright, to sum things up: The Punisher is definitely making his return, but we’ll have to wait until season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again to see him in full action.
