Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the 12th entry in the series and was developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The game was released in 2020 and was the successor to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The game simply isn’t what fans of the series wanted. The game is labeled as a copy-paste of the predecessor AC Odyssey with many components of the game similar to that of Odyssey.
It was a Viking-themed game away from the traditional style of the game, something like Asassin’s Creed games were trying to implement. The game felt vast with the open world with RPG elements in the game. It comes all lot down to different tastes of people, A lot of people do like this game but there is a fair share of complaints about it too.

Number 12: Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The latest game of the series Assassin’s Creed Mirage didn’t receive a ton of popularity when it was released. part of it was because it was originally supposed to be a DLC for AC Valhalla and was only an idea that grew to be a full game. Perhaps it is for this reason that the game didn’t really make that big of an impact when it was released.
The game tried to bring back the roots of the Assassin’s Creed lore with a smaller map and without the RPG elements like the recent games and was successful in that regard. But overall the game didn’t make an impact when it comes to the Assassin’s Creed level of fame. It is still a good experience overall but the latter games in the list stand out more than Mirage does.
Number 11: Assassin’s Creed Rogue
Assassin’s Creed Rouge was released in 2014, and developed by Ubisoft Sofia. It was only a different game from the previous game, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag in terms of the story. Everything else was just like an expansion of AC Black Flag. The story was a different take on the typical Assassin’s Creed lore and offered a change of view.
The game didn’t have any memorable characters apart from some of the characters that were more of a cameo from previous games. The only positive of the game is also that it was taken as a replica of AC Black Flag which was received greatly by the fans. The gameplay mechanics that were brought directly from Black Flag was liked by some while others complained about it being more of the same. The game did serve as a lore filler though connecting previous games to later-released AC Unity.
Number 10: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was released in 2018 after AC Origins. The game took a similar approach to Origins with the RPG elements and vast open world. It was definitely a beautiful game. The ancient Greece the game was set in was really well done. The game tried to double down on the approach of AC origins by going away from the typical Assassin’s lore. It tried a different approach with the game mechanics. A lot of people applaud it for trying to go for that Witcher 3 style of game. and it did manage to implement some of the aspects of the game.
Odyssey did manage to conjure up critiques about different aspects of the game. The map was really beautiful but at times it felt empty. The side quests were also not that engaging. Odyssey was criticized for its seemingly lifeless cutscenes as well, something that would be carried out for the latter games. It really felt like a downgrade from the previous entries of the series. Overall, the game is still a beautiful one and is a fresh wind for the series.

Number 9: Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was the ninth entry of the series that came out in 2015. The game was set in Victorian England. The similarities of Victorian England of the 18th century with the game were applaudable. It was the last game before the series turned into big open-world RPG games. It was not the best Assassin’s Creed game by any means but it had its plus points.
The map added new elements to the game with grappling hooks and carriages. The map didn’t offer a ton of opportunity in terms of parkour but it compensated for it by introducing the grappling hook which was a fun new ability to use. The combat system wasn’t a hit among the players. Syndicate wasn’t really a ground-breaking addition to the series and it was seen as such by the fans.
Number 8: Assassin’s Creed I
Assassin’s Creed I, The game that started this now-popular series. It was the beginning of the franchise. The game gave the Assassin’s Creed its identity. Number 7: Assassin’s Creed Unity
If Assassin’s Creed Unity was Judged in terms of what it was like when it was initially released, the game would’ve been lower on the list. When the game came out in 2014, it was buggy as hell. there were numerous complaints, and the reviews were bad and it was seen as a rushed release by the developer. It did however get better with updates fixing bugs and glitches in the game.
The game was set in Paris in the 17th century. It has one of the most enjoyable parkour actions and it looks amazing even today. Graphicwise the game is a revolutionary one with drastic changes from the previous entries of the series. It brought changes in the combat system as well as the stealth elements. The game offered a variety of game mechanics to approach missions stealth-wise. It had co-op mode in the game as well and was exploring a lot of unknown territory
