Thunderbolts: Trailer Released
Marvel recently dropped the trailer for a highly anticipated superhero movie starring some of the most fan-favourite characters of Marvel. This includes Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh in “Black Widow.” Fans are going crazy over the return of Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts.
Along with Pugh, John Walker played by Wyatt Russel, Ghost played by Hannah John-Kamen, and Taskmaster played by Olga Kurylenko are also featured in the upcoming superhero movie. The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Sebastian Stan who plays Bucky. The most amazing part is the return on Scarlett Johansson. Unfortunately, she won’t be returning as Black Widow, she however, is the executive producer of Thunderbolts.
The news of Scarlett Johansson joining the team as an executive producer was first hinted by Marvel President Kevin Feige in 2021. This makes sense because she was also the executive producer of Black Widow. In that movie, we see her as the sister of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh). Although quite disheartening that our favourite won’t be returning to the screen, it’s also a very lucky moment that she is a part of this Marvel project.
The premise of Thunderbolts follows a group of morally ambiguous characters who are faced with different life threatening tasks. Their operations may happen in gray areas, unlike the usual Avengers who fight for the clear-cut good. Fans are speculating a lot of things, but they are left assuming where the Thunderbolts’ loyalties and motives lie. The trailer focuses on anti-heroes. This has led to a lot of buzz among fans, making different theories, and coming up with the concept of ‘Dark Avengers.’ This is a term that was introduced in the Marvel Comics, who comprises of morally gray characters and villains.
A lot of assumptions come into play, including, the plot of Yelena Belova. As we know, her sister Natash Romanoff dies in Avengers: Endgame. She sacrifices herself to save the world. Yelena might seel revenge for the death of her sister. Thunderbolts is expected to release on May 2, 2025.

Thunderbolts could serve as a bridge between the MCU and other possible projects. This could introduce us to some new villains. People have a lot of expectations from this upcoming movie. Marvel have not been able to live up to the standards of its past movies. Recent shows and movies such as, Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk have disappointed fans and viewers a lot.
