What is the reason behind Mae seeking revenge on the four Jedi? The Acolytes season 1 episode 2 recap

This mysterious thriller is here with yet another episode of The Acolytes. The episode starts with Mae breaking into a tample of Jedi in Olega by tipping a child to distract security. When she entered, another man named Torbin was also present, who could either be sleeping or meditating while hovering in the air.

Mae starts attacking Torbin after giving him a warning to defend himself with whatever weapon he has; however, Torbin stays still. Mae drew the same blade from which she killed Indrana, who too could not penetrate the shield covering Torbin, which was preventing Mae from getting close to him. Meanwhile, she hears footsteps approaching and leaves the place immideatly.

After that, Mae meets an old friend in the town and asks for the way to kill Torbin. Qimir gives her a poison called absolution.

Torbin’s identity is yet to be revealed, but Mae can be seen blaming him for something awful, and on top of that, she believes him to be an old friend of Sol. Meanwhile, Sol, Osha, and Joncky arrive at the temple in the alegra and start talking with the managers of the temple.

Mae confronts Torbin and tells him that she knows his secret behind taking the barash vow” which a Jedi took for penitence. Simultaneously, Sol gets informed by the authorities that Torbin has not spoken for 10 years.

Mae tricks Torbin and tells him she knows what crime Torbin has committed. She then gives him the absolution poison. For the first time in ten years, Torbin opens his eyes and replies to Mae that they thought they were doing the right thing. After that, Torbin drank the poise, which he calls ”boonta” and died.

Mae tells Sol that the poison was from her planet, but they do not believe her. She locates a man named Qimir, who agreed to sell the poison, but when he sees Osha, he says,You look just like her.

Jecky and Jon hold Qimir to not let him escape the shop while Sol interrogates him and promises to let him go if he speaks the truth. Qimir tells Mae that Mae is after the four Jedi for her revenge, and

Indrana could be one of them while Torbin could be another, but the remaining two Jedi could be anyone, even Sol himself, and he could be next.

Osha gives a logical explanation for it and talks about an incident that happened 16 years ago that involved Indrana Torbin Kelnacca and Sol. She also reviles the fact that it was Mae who killed her family.

Sol confronts Osha to have faith and patience in himself and in her sister as well.

In the one-on-one hand combat scene between Sol and Mae, it becomes clear that Mae does not know if her sister Osha is still alive. and that could be the reason behind her revenge. However, it doesn’t get clear why Osha accused Mae of being the killer of her family.

Mae steals a vehicle after nearly getting defeted by Sol, who tells her that her sister Osha is alive, but she does not believe him. Mae could not believe her eyes when she saw Osha in front of her. Osha tried two failed attempts at killing Mae, but somehow she escapes the place with the help of Qimir, who, at the end, gives her information about Kelnacca’s location.
