After the tense and dramatic end of Blue Lock Season 1, everybody has eyes on it’s Season 2. The hype is real. So, here is the good news: episode 1 will be released finally after a long wait of one year and six months: Tomorrow, October 5th, 2024, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET.

It will premiere on Crunchyroll and Netflix, with original Japanese voiceover, and to ease language barriers for anime lovers, English subtitles are added to the series. Let me give you more insight and highlights from Blue Lock Season 2.

Blue Lock Season 2: What to Expect

This highly anticipated series is titled “BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN” for its Season 2. It is based on award-winning Japanese manga “Blue Lock” (Japanese: ブルーロック), created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro (writer) and Yusuke Nomura (illustrator). This season 2 is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and Assistant Director Shunsuke Shikawa. Tetsuaki had also dedicated his direction skills to Season 1.

He is known for his work on other notable anime, including Haikyuu!! and Shinsekai Yori. Blue Lock Season 2 continues to be produced by Eight-Bit. It has adapted a new animation approach to make this soccer game-based anime more realistic by adding more fluid and dynamic action sequences in the story.

How will the story of Blue Lock take a new turn?

Season 1 was concluded at episode 24 with the establishment of Yoichi Isagi’s dream to be the best striker after the defeat of Team Z from Team W. So, Season 2 will explore its challenges to being a good football player, along with some other expectations of the story.
