Food Wars, also known as Shokugeki no Soma, is a Japanese anime revolving around the art of cooking. The story tells us the tale of Soma Yukihira, a young lad who wants to become a great chef. Focusing on his passion and dream, he enrols himself into one of the top culinary schools in Japan, Totsuki Culinary Academy. At the culinary school, Soma faces a lot of competition from his classmates. All of the aspiring chefs have to present their own dishes to a panel of judges in order to secure a good score. Everyone in Totsuki wanted to come first, including Soma! The food wars are known as “Shokugeki” and present a lot of competition and angst.

The anime comprises a lot of heart-warming moments as well as anxious scenes. The intense rivalry between Soma and Ryo creates a lot of tension among the viewers. Viewers get to see a lot of beautiful and mouth-watering dishes. But our favourite is when Soma goes against Erina in Shokugeki! Soma’s delicious dish fights tough competition against Erina’s unique palate!
