Blade and Gambit: Marvel's Reunion?

Welcome, Marvel Enthusiasts! Every time fans of the Marvel Universe get to speak about something new they can hardly contain the excitement. If you are among the fans of the thin and brutal vampire killer Blade or if you are waiting for the rightfully attractive Gambit, then it is worth waiting for some interesting news.

Is there a possibility of getting a Marvel team up of Wesley Snipes’ Blade and Channing Tatum’s Gambit? Here we go to what I think may turn out to be one of the best Marvel combinations ever!

The Return of Blade: Wesley Snipes’ Iconic Role

Many Marvel fans can consider the Blade trilogy that was released between 1998 and 2004 to be personal favorites. Wesley Snipes turned the half-vampire, half-man character into the stoic dramatic figure that characterized the then emerging superhero movie genre. Blade was out there when slashing through vampires was considered niche and people were not familiar with the term MCU.

When it was announced that Mahershala Ali will be the one to portray the character of Blade in the MCU’s reboot people were thrilled, but somewhat reminiscing about the old days. More than anyone else, Snipes’ take was historically iconic. However, there are sentiments that Marvel might be planning on how to incorporate Snipes back into the series, this can even extend to the universe or apprentice role to Ali’s Blade. To fans that would watch Snipes don the shades and trench coat once more , it chilled the spine.

Channing Tatum’s Gambit: The One That Got Away

Moving to the second part of the discussion and let us discuss Gambit. Ever since Gambit was announced for an X-Men spin off, Channing Tatum has been linked to the movie where he played a Cajun card-throwing mutant Remy LeBeau. Fans have been clamoring to see Gambit on the big screen since his brief appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, although the movie alone has been in the production limbo for as long as it seems like eternity.

A Marvelous Reunion: Could Blade and Gambit Join Forces?

Thus the question: what are the relations between Blade and Gambit, and why is this possible reunion so incredibly core? Well, both of them exist on the margin of the superhero club, at least, in some ways. They are not exactly those squeaky clean heroes, they operate in the gray area, in the less savory aspects of the Marvel world.

Blade and Gambit

Blade is required to face a new powerful foe or assailant; Gambit as on the other side is hired to protect the said new powerful enemy or assailant. Vampires or vampire hunters are protagonists such as the one who is probably a Gambit who finds himself in New Orleans and gets involved in a supernatural event only to discover that vampires are at the helm of it.

So when the people only in the darkness of the night need someone to fight the nasty vamps, who better to call than Blade, the vampire hunter? The partnership between Snipes’ comparatively unyielding Blade and Tatum’s charming thief Gambit should be potent. There’s light comedy, there’s likely to be some really engaging action sequences and most of all, there’s one specific facet of Marvel that hasn’t really been explored – the less brighter side of the Marvel world.

The Multiverse Opens Doors

Marvel Studios having the concept of a multiverse, is like a new dawn to their external possibilities. Already we have seen that various characters can exist at the same time as different entities and this would certainly mean a cameo for Wesley Snipes’ blade or a full team up with Tatum’s Gambit in an extensive crossover. The multiverse allows Marvel to depict such appearances of fans without ruining today’s continuity.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that fans are so excited about blending into comics movie genres like together in such animated series as Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dr. Strange in Nightmare land which will be soon coming out. It’s interesting how teaming up Blade and Gambit would not only be pleasing to those who have been following Marvel for ages but also mark the introduction of these famous names onto another level altogether.
