What is Thunderbolts About?

To readers who are not privy to the Thunderbolts group, this assemblage of renegades and reformed criminals are rather notorious in the Marvel comic books. The Thunderbolts were first presented as a new group of superheroes; however, they are a team of antagonists disguised as superheroes. The team grew throughout the years as some of the members were really out for reformation while the others were real bad seeds.

In the MCU, the Thunderbolts should have the same steps as the COMMANDO, assembling characters that were presented before, such as Baron Zemo, Yelena Belova, and U. S. Agent, and others. While it is empathetic characters who make moral choices in a world full of superheroes and villains, it would be interesting to know how Marvel Studios will solve such a task.

Trailer Coming Soon: What Can We Expect?

Marvel recently confirmed that the Thunderbolts trailer is on the way soon. However, even though the specific release date of the single hasn’t been disclosed yet, but judging by the frequency of the songs’ release, it should be expected that in the next one or two months at the most. It feels like we are waiting with bated breath because in this trailer, we are going to get the first glimpse of how the Thunderbolts will incorporate into other MCU arcs.

As for what is to be expected from the trailer, there are few doubts it will have the humor and wittiness as a primary focus of what the audience can expect. Perhaps, it will give a snap of how serious the movie is than how light Marvel movies are, at least till date. We might also come across the relations of the team members that must be intricate due to their backgrounds. Also, the trailer can reveal the main villain who, for some reason, was kept secret for a long time.

The Logo Reveal: What Does It Tell Us?

In addition to the trailer release, Marvel Studios has also released the official logo of Thunderbolts. The logo is also sharp and muscular and is overall very fitting for the more mature, darker sounding film it is expected to be. It has the team’s name, written in a pretty tight, metallic style, and has a picture of a thunderbolt on the emblem as well.

The thought process behind the film depicted in the logo also supports this assumption as the color choice and the overall aggressive feel and look of the logo strengthening the sense that this movie will not gloss over the darker aspect of the MCU or its characters’ moral compass. This is not going to be an easy and cheerful comedy; yes, we will probably be witnessing a movie that raises questions regarding the definition of the protagonist and antagonist.

How Does Thunderbolts Fit Into the MCU’s Future?

The MCU has been setting the framework for the incorporation of the Thunderbolts. Yelena Belova and John Walker (U. S. Agent) have already been introduced in the previous films and series where the idea of a group that works in the darkness performing the roles that more appreciated superheroes do not want to perform has been created.

The formation of the Thunderbolts could also bring a change in the direction of the MCU series, which would be more complex, telling stories of characters who want to be redeemed, who stay loyal to their former enemy and who tries to define what a hero is. That is why Thunderbolts could indeed be a leap toward even more intricate scenarios in the following productions of the MCU, embedded in the multiverse storylines, or other heroes with even darker shades of morality.

If you are a comics reader or an MCU lover, especially in the recent years’ thematic, there is much to look forward to with Thunderbolts. The new trailer will no doubt provide a clearer vision of its content, but even the logo build up has steered audiences into what seems to be one of Marvel’s most anticipated films.
