Could display of Scepter at Gala clue “God of Stories” returns in MCU’s new series of Anti-Heros: Thunderbolts
Loki's iconic scepter in Thunderbolts trailer indicates his possible return and what it means for the future of the MCU's Anti-Heroes.
Avengers, Assemble!!! As, Marvel Cinematic Universe is flourishing everyday with a new theory of underrated or anti heroes. The recent Thunderbolts teaser has left fans amazed, and not just because of its action-packed scenes, because of speculation about Loki return in this series as full pledged character or surprise cameo?
Let’s dive into the details, from Loki’s possible appearance to the future of the MCU’s anti-heroes.
Loki’s Scepter on Display: A Nod to The Avengers?
If you are disheartened fan as like me, then definitely you have noticed Scepter of “God of Stories” at Gala event in Thunderbolts. The scene is a tribute to the heros, from the Battle of New York. Could this mean that the Tim Hiddleston will return as Loki for another cameo?.
Definetly, Marvel followed a clever approach to engage fans, in the search of “God of Mischief- Loki” in another upcoming series; as the Phase 5 reaches to its end. While the Scepter plays a significant role in MCU weapon world, yet, Loki lost its core: Mind Stone; to Ultron in “AVENGERS: SHE OF ULTRON”. And, the display of this spectacular weapon at Gala represent how much Marvel adore his all characters.
I mean, does it wield any power without the stone?? Last time we’ve seen it was in Age Of Ultron

Loki’s Redemption Arc: A Journey Worth Revisiting
It’s hard to think of any another, who share the same magical abilities of shape-shifting or astral projection, and energy blasts: other than The Loki. From being the evil baby brother of Thor to being the most loved anti-hero of MCU. His journey is a blueprint for upcoming anti-hero stories: full of redemptions, pain and hustle.
Tim’s portrayal as Loki in “Loki Season 2” showed another side of him as character, when he saved the Sacred Timeline in the end. It was pleasantly surprising to see how far the character had turned from being destructive in nature to one that preserved time. So, it seems that his story is done, does that mean Loki will not come back to the MCU and instead be a character in Thunderbolts?
It is possible that Loki has to take a back seat as the God of Stories for some time to maintain audacity and curiosity among fans. However, the storyline of forgiveness that runs through Thunderbolts makes every fan want to see him there, though a cameo can be satisfying.
Thunderbolts: A Team of Conflicting Anti-Heroes
The team of “Thunderbolts” is walking over the thin of slice of ice which maintains balance of there hero and villain at some point characters. Thus, characters like Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Ava Starr, Alexi Shostakoy, Jone Walker and Antonia Dreykov: all come together to form this misfit team where redemption plays a pivotal role in the storyline.
In this kind of universe where people like Bucky Barnes revolve around dark histories, Loki is a bonus character to flip the story upside down. And it’s not just the heroes who have changed. Even Tony Stark, who some fans believe might make an appearance (perhaps through flashbacks or AI), went through his own journey of redemption. But these beliefs are not officially recognised by Marvel, Let’s hope for fans theories to be true…

With all these anti-heroes in one film, Thunderbolts promises a unique dynamic. Will the team be able to work together, or will their conflicting pasts cause chaos? It’s definitely something we can’t wait to see unfold on the big screen.
“I had no idea, and every time someone says that [it’s been 14 years], it kind of blows my mind because when I was cast in 2009, I was 29…28…and I’m 43 now, and that’s a big chunk of my adult life I’ve been playing this amazing character. It’s changed the course of my life completely… don’t know. I really don’t know…I know that we’ve reached some sort of narrative conclusion with season two, which feels very satisfying to me.”

Could Loki Appear in Avengers: Doomsday?
Assume if Thunderbolts not showcase Loki, the next film which is likely to feature him probably be Avengers: Doomsday, which has become one of the most-awaited releases in the Marvel cinematic universe. Marvel has always been very cautious about the circumstances under which its leading characters are revived, and Loki is one of them.
